5. Cookies, Collection of User Data and Web Tracking Services
We use cookies on various sites in order to present a more attractive site to visitors and to enable them to use certain functions. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer. Most of the cookies we use are deleted from your hard drive once the browser session has ended (so-called session cookies). Other cookies remain on your computer and enable us to recognize your computer the next time you visit us (so-called long-term cookies), although your password is not saved, for security reasons. Of course you can also visit our website without cookies. If you do not want us to recognize your computer, you may block the saving of cookies to your hard drive by changing your browser settings. For details, please refer to the Help function of your browser. If you set the browser to refuse all cookies, this may restrict your use of certain functions on our website.
Solutions and technologies provided by econda GmbH (http://www.econda.de) enable the configuration and optimization of our website by collecting and saving anonymous data to create user profiles with aliases. Cookies that enable the recognition of an Internet browser can be used to do this. However, user profiles are only provided with data about the bearer of the alias with the express approval of the site visitor. IP addresses in particular are encrypted immediately on recognition, which means user profiles cannot be linked with IP addresses. Visitors to this website may revoke their consent to data retrieval and storage at any time in the future by clicking here.
Social Plug-ins
Our website features social networking plug-ins from Facebook – the “Like” and “Share” buttons – in order to make the website more personal. This service is provided by the US company Facebook, Inc. (1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA).
When you access one of our pages with these plug-ins, your browser establishes a direct link with the Facebook servers. The content of these plug-ins is transmitted directly from Facebook to your browser and then integrated into the website.
Via the integration of plug-ins, Facebook receives the information that your browser accessed the relevant page of our website, even if you do not have a Facebook account or are not logged in to Facebook at that point. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted from your browser directly to a Facebook server in the US and saved there.
If you are logged into Facebook, Facebook can link your visit to our website with your Facebook account. When you interact with the plug-ins, such as the “Like” or “Share” buttons, the relevant information is transmitted directly to a Facebook server and saved there. The information will then be published on Facebook and will be visible to your Facebook friends.
Facebook may use this information for advertising and market research purposes, as well as for the customization of Facebook pages. To this end, Facebook creates profiles based on usage, interests and relationships in order to evaluate your use of our website with regard to the advertisements displayed to you on Facebook, for example, or to inform other Facebook users about your activities on our website and to provide further services related to the use of Facebook.
If you do not want Facebook to collect data about you via our website and link this with your Facebook account, you need to log off from Facebook before going to our website.
For information on the purpose and extent of data capture and the further processing and use of data by Facebook, as well your rights in this regard and personal privacy settings, please refer to the Facebook data protection information.
Our Web pages feature the “+1” button from the social network Google Plus, which is operated by Google. The “+1” button is shown on a white or color background.
When you access one of our pages that features this button, your browser establishes a direct link with the Google servers. The content of the “+1” button is transmitted directly from Google to your browser and then integrated into the website. This means we have no influence over the amount of data Google can access via the button. According to Google, no personal data is retrieved if the user does not click on the button. Such data, including the IP address will only be retrieved and processed for members who are logged.
For information on the purpose and extent of data capture and the further processing and use of data by Google, as well your rights in this regard and personal privacy settings, please refer to the Google data protection information.
If you are a Google Plus member and do not want Google to collect data about you via our website and to link this with your membership data stored by Google, you need to log off from Google Plus before going to our website.
Our website features plug-ins from the messaging network Twitter, Inc., 795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. The Twitter plug-ins (tweet button) on our site feature the Twitter logo. You can see an overview of the tweet button here. When you access one of our pages with these plug-ins, your browser establishes a direct link with the Twitter server. Twitter then receives information that you visited our site using your IP address. If you click on the “tweet” button while you are logged into your Twitter account, you can link the content of our pages to your Twitter profile. This means that Twitter can assign your visit to our site with your user account. We would like to indicate that, as the website provider, we are aware of neither the content of the data transmitted to Twitter nor of the purposes for which it may be used by Twitter. For more information, please see the Twitter data privacy agreement.
If you do not want Twitter to link your visit to our site with your profile, please log out of your Twitter account.
Right to Information, Right of Objection and Right of Withdrawal
The German Federal Data Protection Act guarantees you information free of charge about your stored personal data and, if you so wish, your right to the correction, blocking or deletion of these data. You may also object at any time to the anonymous or pseudonymized collection and storage of data for the purposes of optimizing our website. You may also withdraw your consent to the future collection, storage and use of data at any time.
We would be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding data protection or the processing of your personal data.
